That's the beggining of the best one piece arc. It comes after Skypiea, which comes after Alabasta (dunno If you've finished this one already). The first part is hard to watch, because they got accused by everyone of a bad thing. that makes you wanna see more, untill things get good :>
Skypiea is also really interesting. It is based in an old tale about a guy that found a land full of gold but then it disappeared and everyone called him a liar, plus he got sentenced to death. It's awesome.
You'll also have an arc with zombies hehe. Some funny stuff happens in there, and Chopper's gonna say some epic quotes. And luffy also ofc, but he always does that. The best part about it is that they find a new nakama in there and you'll be surprised because he is connected with something that happened before episode 100.

which one should i watch first? fma or fma brotherhood?

btw found another scy-fi anime... it's called "[C]: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control" 11 episodes.. dunno if it's good or not tho xD but it might be similar to steins;gate

I recommend that you only watch brotherhood. The first series is just messed up lol. It'll make you cry like hell (sad ending). And the plot didn't make sense...
If you are curious though, watch it after brotherhood. Brotherhood is the real deal.

well ive only seen teh ending and its different to the brotherhood, and i guess as kaboom said it doesnt make that much sense

The first one was made before the Manga ended, I think. That's why it goes completely different from halfway through the anime.. It's a completely different story. Just watch brotherhood :)
The characters are the same and many scenes are the same, but the plot is 100% different.
