Mumble
« on: April 30, 2012, 02:57:49 pm »
I can't connect to any mumble server, anyone has an idea of what can be causing that?

This is all which appears:

[04:59:07 PM] Welcome to Mumble.
[04:59:09 PM] Connecting to server 85.236.101.45.
[04:59:38 PM] Disconnected from server.

It started like 5 days ago.

help?

Try disabling "Quality of Service" in the network settings (make sure "Advanced" is ticked so the option is visible). It is known to create problems with some broken WLAN devices/drivers.

I think that will help

It would notify me before blocking if it was the firewall.

But anyway I tried adding Mumble to exceptions and even disabling the firewall, still the same. :(

Aight I sent a mail to my ISP and here's their reply:

Quote
Dear Etisalat Customer,

Thank you for contacting Etisalat Customer Care Center.

Further to your email, we sincerely apologize for the delay. Please note that using VOIP for pc to phone calls is illegal as per the UAE's internet access management policy for providing VOIP services. Hence, all web portals providing VOIP services would be blocked by Etisalat.

They say that using VOIP for PC to phone calls is illegal and that they blocked mumble's VOIP service for that reason, does mumble even have such a feature?

Edit: Lol I just remembered that even Skype is not blocked, seriously wtf is with these people?
