We're pretty frustrated with the issue as well, but we're working on it. It turns out that the mass spam account registrations here and across the network (if they can get around our filter) are hogging bandwidth and causing SMFNew to be extremely slow, and sometimes, it's even completely down. We're working with the datacentre to fix the issues, and we're looking into several additional anti-spam methods, both on the support forum, and on all free forums. Please stay patient.
That's why the website was down some days ago.
